Troncones Area

The thing that gets confusing is that all of the beach is called “Troncones” even though the village only takes up a few town blocks, on the way from the highway to the ocean. The exception to that is the bay which is called Manzanillo Bay. The source of that name is all of the Manzanillo (tropical crab apple) trees that grow there.

So the total (immediate) area is comprised of:

Troncones the village (3 blocks by 3)
Troncones the beach (three miles along the water)
Manzanillo Bay (the bay)
La Majahua the village

*When you take a taxi from Zihua or the Airport, it is important to designate which area you are going to as the rates are different.
